MAJOR DISTRICT 2-A2 GOALS FOR 2011-2012

During this Service Year, I ask each of you, my fellow Lions, to take on the theme of International President Tam when he states “I BELIEVE” and especially during these difficult economic times, when an increase in service to our communities is likely; we, more than ever, need to BELIEVE in our commitment and work together as a TEAM, because

The majority of what we accomplish within our communities is done by the Lion membership. So, to continue and/or increase our level of Service to our communities we will need to encourage new members to join our clubs. To do this, we ask that each Club in our district to expend whatever effort is necessary to increase our membership. A very attainable goal is a Plus (+) One Lion member for each Club.

 We can only continue and increase our Service to our various communities by retaining the Lion members we have. To do this, we need to take better care of our Lion members and have fun while serving.  A good guide to use is the "Initial Record of New Member" which is on the back of the membership application.

 The Future of Lionism lies with our Youth of today. We must continue to shape and support our youth through the programs designed for our young people. To do this, we are requesting that each Club in District 2-A2 support at least one Youth Program.

 Due to the great Service and Worthwhile work performed by the Texas Lions Camp Endowment Campaign, the Stride For Sight, and the 100% Program, we are asking all Clubs to support these great Service Programs that benefit all communities within District 2-A2.

 So that our District and Lions International can continue Serving, we ask each club for the timely filing of reports and dues payment.

 In order for a Club to function efficiently they need a Club Budget and Goals, along with each Lion developing their own individual Goals.

In order to provide Lions Services in unassisted communities, it is important to develop new clubs in these areas. To do this, I ask all Lions to help identify these areas of Need.  If you ask why, it is because WE SERVE.
